What are Bonded Hair Extensions?
Pre bonded hair extensions are one of the oldest hair extension methods, where the extensions are “bonded” to the client’s natural hair using a keratin formula.
The keratin is melted with either hot or cold fusion which forms into a solid bond that can last for up to 4 months.
Bonded extensions are best suited for those with healthy, thicker hair since each bond needs to hold the hair firmly to stay in place for long periods.
The health of our clients natural hair is our main priority, if your hair is extremely fine, bonded hair extensions are unsuitable.
How Bonded Extensions Are Applied
01. Consultation: Your stylist will do an in-depth assessment of your hair and discuss your goals, whether it is thickening your hair, adding length, or both. They will also assess your lifestyle to guide you towards the method that suits you best before giving you a personalised quote.
02. Application: Your stylist will divide your natural hair into small, isolated sections to individually attach each bonded extension. Using hot or cold fusion, the keratin bonds are melted and then solidified to form a solid seal that lasts up to 4 months.
03. Finishing: Your extensions will be cut, styled and blended using a technique introduced by our in-house hair extension expert, Louise Bailey. This final step is essential to create a natural-looking result that is indistinguishable from your own hair.
Maintenance
Keratin bond hair extensions last up to four months, depending on your lifestyle and aftercare routine.
Their lifespan is determined by your hair's natural shedding cycle. While the extensions in the bonds remain the same, the natural hair supporting them gradually sheds over time (approximately 10% per month). After 3-4 months, the natural hair supporting the bond begins to reduce, altering the weight distribution. To ensure zero tension and prioritise the integrity of your natural hair, professional removal and replacement at this stage is essential.

Tape In Hair Extensions
Tape extensions are lightweight and gentle on natural hair due to their attachment point. The tapes lie flat against the scalp, resulting in a natural look and feel, even when worn in different hairstyles. They are reusable and can be refitted multiple times.

Protects natural hair health: They are lightweight and distribute weight evenly, causing minimal tension. They also don’t require heat or tools for application.

Re-usable: High-quality tape-ins can be reused multiple times by simply replacing the adhesive tape and moving them up every 6-8 weeks.

Clip In Hair Extensions
Clip-in extensions are a temporary option for clients who don’t want to commit to permanent hair extensions but still want the finest quality hair for events and nights out. Unlike other methods, clip-in extensions can be removed and re-applied without visiting a salon.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can bonded hair extensions damage your natural hair?
Keeping our clients’ natural hair healthy is our number one priority. Our Co-Founder, Louise Bailey, has over two decades of experience fitting bonded hair extensions. She has found that bonded extensions are not the right choice if your natural hair is extremely fine or lacks density at the roots. Many salons recommend bonded extensions for fine hair. However, Louise has said that “over time and long-term wear, we often see slight deterioration of the natural hair when bonds are fitted to fine hair types”.
When bonds are fitted to healthy, thicker hair, which has sufficient strength to support the small attachment points of bonded hair extensions, your hair will remain damage-free, as our technique reduces tension and strain on the clients’ natural hair. It is common for our clients to notice an improvement in their natural hair after removing the extensions.
How much do bonded hair extensions cost?
Our price list shows the cost of the hair and the application. Prices start from AED 1,300, which includes both the hair and the fitting.

How long after my consultation can I have my extensions fitted?
For bonded extensions, we’ll colour-match your hair during your consultation and place an order for your extensions. These usually arrive within 2 working days, after which we can book your fitting appointment at a convenient time.
We also hold a full stock of tape-in extensions, which can be fitted on the same day as your consultation if preferred.
What's the difference between hot and cold fusion?
Heat is generated by both machines, but their methods are different. As with a microwave, cold fusion pliers transmit ultrasonic waves that create heat so that the bond can be melted, whereas hot fusion pliers directly transfer heat to melt keratin bonds, like a soldering iron.
What is the difference between round and flat bonds?
Traditionally, bonded hair extensions are applied using round bonds. They are faster to apply, but they ‘squeeze’ the hair together, which results in hair not flowing straight (creating more volume). In contrast, flat bonds allow hair to flow in a straight line closer to the scalp, making them more difficult to feel as they are fitted.
The two types of bonds last exactly the same amount of time; we fit both, but flat bonds are our preferred method. Depending on your hair type, we may mix flat bonds with round bonds.
What is keratin?
Keratin is often referred to as glue, but it is actually a natural resin derived from the same proteins found in hair and nails. There are tiny pieces of keratin adhesive at the tips of keratin bond extensions. The keratin is long-lasting and can only be removed with a specialist removal tool and an alcohol-based solution.
